Your role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our growing team in Amsterdam. As a fast-scaling company with a product used by thousands, we need a leader who can drive our engineering teams to the next level.
In this role, you will lead multiple Agile teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions that drive Workwize’s success. Your leadership will positively shape our engineering culture, improve product development velocity, and ensure our B2B SaaS platform scales effectively to meet global demand.
Collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Operations teams, you’ll align technical delivery with strategic goals. Reporting directly to the Chief Product & Technical Officer, you’ll oversee day-to-day team operations, mentor engineers, and drive process improvements to enable fast, stable, and sustainable growth.

- Deliver high-quality, stable releases on time, with reduced defects and minimal production incidents.
- Ensure alignment with company goals by delivering product features on time and within budget.
- Drive process improvements (CI/CD, DevOps, automation) to increase development velocity and reduce lead times.
- Make scalable architectural and implementation decisions that support growth, while adapting quickly to evolving business needs.
What will you do?
- Team Leadership: Recruit, onboard, and mentor engineers to build a collaborative, high-performing team. Conduct regular feedback sessions to support growth and foster a culture of learning.
- Technical Guidance: Oversee architectural decisions, ensuring code quality and best practices. Facilitate product teams on technical implementation guidelines. Improve Agile ceremonies to maintain alignment and momentum.
- Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with Product Management to create actionable roadmaps and ensure engineering projects align with company goals and timelines.
- Process Optimization: Implement improvements (e.g., CI/CD, automation, DevOps) and track metrics to boost development speed and product quality.
- Stakeholder Communication & Budget: Provide updates to leadership, manage risks, and allocate resources effectively to meet company goals.
Experience / Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven track record of managing 2+ Agile teams simultaneously in a startup or scale-up environment.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructures (e.g., AWS), CI/CD pipelines (Github), and API integrations.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (React) and PHP (Laravel)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira).
