As we scale across Sweden, the UK, and beyond, we are building a leadership team that combines heart, clarity, and commercial sharpness. The CFO role is a critical part of that journey.

Role Summary

The CFO is responsible for owning Meela’s financial foundation. This role ensures strong financial governance, reliable forecasting, clear performance insights, and investor-ready reporting.

You will work closely with the CEO and the CCO and act as the financial backbone of the leadership team. Your work enables better decisions across commercial strategy, partnerships, growth, and operations.

This is a senior role with real ownership. You are not here to maintain spreadsheets. You are here to build structure, bring clarity, and help shape the future of the company.

What you’ll do

• Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and runway management across the company

• Ensure accurate accounting, VAT handling, and financial compliance across markets

• Build and maintain scalable financial structures, processes, and models to support growth

• Own financial KPIs, performance tracking, and scenario planning, highlighting risks and opportunities

• Translate financial data into clear insights for leadership, board, and key stakeholders to Support strategic decision-making

• Own financial preparation for fundraising, including models, due diligence materials, and cap table management

• Support pricing models, unit economics, and commercial decision-making across products and partnerships

• Prepare financial and performance reporting for leadership and board meetings

Specific to this role, we would like to see that you can tick off a fair amount of the boxes below

• A university degree or equivalent experience within finance and economics

• Experience owning financial planning, forecasting, accounting and reporting in a startup or scaleup environment

• Experience in fundraising processes and investor reporting

• Experience working closely with founders and leadership teams in a fast paced environment

• Comfortable building financial structure from scratch and improving messy systems

• Advanced skills in Excel and/or Google Sheets

• It’s a bonus if you have understanding of business models such as marketplace, or platform businesses
