We’re looking for an experienced UX/UI Design Lead to join our team as our first in-house designer. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the Founders and play a significant role in shaping the direction of a product that helps companies and organisations reduce energy waste.

What you’ll do

• Design Solutions That Matter
  • Collaborate closely with our two founders, engineers, and the rest of the team to deliver designs that balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to bring concepts to life and drive actionable outcomes.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to ensure your designs are intuitive, functional, and impactful.
• Lead Design Practices‍
  • Define and uphold design principles for a scalable, user-friendly product that grows with the company.
  • Work on data visualisation projects or enhance your skills to simplify complex data into digestible insights.
  • Set the stage for a design-first culture, crafting processes that enable effective collaboration and innovation.‍
• Strategic Contribution‍
  • Partner in discovery efforts to understand customer needs and guide product decisions.
  • Prioritise high-impact features, ensuring time and resources are used effectively to achieve business outcomes.
  • Navigate the dynamic environment of a startup, adapting to changing priorities and uncovering valuable opportunities.

What you bring

‍

• Experience and Expertise
  • 5–7+ years of experience in product design, particularly for B2B SaaS products serving mid-large organizations.
  • A background in industrial design, digital design, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven success in startups, scaleups, or similar fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.‍
• ‍Core Design Skills‍
  • Mastery of wireframing, prototyping, visual design, and user testing, employing lean methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of user needs, usability, and best practices to create intuitive, practical solutions.
  • Versatility in tools: choosing the right medium (from sketching to Figma) based on the stage of the design process
• ‍Business and Technical Savvy‍
  • Strong sense of ownership with the ability to balance ideal design with feasible implementation.
  • Collaborative approach to working with engineers, ensuring technical constraints are considered from day one.
  • Curiosity for business strategy, ensuring user needs align with the company’s goals and resources.‍
• Adaptability and Autonomy‍
  • Comfort in navigating uncertainty, shifting priorities, and wearing multiple hats.
  • Strong communication skills to explain design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive mindset, able to work independently and thrive in a resource-constrained environment.‍
• Passion for Sustainability‍
  • Genuine enthusiasm for creating solutions that address climate challenges and promote sustainable practices.
